EclipseOfTheMoon

From the Pocket of a Dream

*The Ocean of Forever*

For My Love

The dream had whispered a name
Once
through the distance and darkness
Life had stopped in that moment
ages ago
frozen within the mirror of expectations
promising an eternal waiting

At the edge of insanity
my soul
became a bird with the broken wings
unable to move to feel
It lived in the acceptance of emptyness
in resignation
Until the day
when the vision came to life again
with a sudden breath of the remembrance

A beam of light shone through the black cloud
At the very first sight
it brought the strange sense of warmth
the sound of a heartbeat
A very known stranger
from the kingdom of dreams
woke up the dormant bird of my soul
He gave her its wings back
It is captured now
yet
it is released to fly
across the ocean of forever

I can understand putting your life on hold – as if you were already dead – until something or someone you’ve been waiting for is brought back to you. Wonderful poetry!
