*A Faithful Companion*
Sometimes
some thoughts
that come in the night
still hurt
while the eyes
drunk of insomnia
wide open
meet shadows
upon
the hidden walls
of the past
Fear
still smiles
sometimes
behind the curtains
as a faithful companion
as a reminder
afraid itself
of being forgotten
left alone for good
while the merciless night
tirelessly continues to bleed
by its heavy darkness

In the universe of broken
the eyes are often drunk
with memories, with longing.
New day is about to rise,
embrace the sparkles,
believe in the magic of your world!
Your way with words it’s really inspirational!
Always a pleasure to be here!

Your poem is well-crafted and your word-choice is sublime. You start on the ground with the reader and escort them up into the skies where they can ponder these torments with some perspective. Beautiful poem.

I guess I’ll call you, Eclipse until I learn different:)
I really enjoyed this piece, because it was if I was writing it, not as good mind you, you are way smooth and polished, but the voice is familiar to my ear. It sounds good. It reads real. I really like it, really I do, Eclipse.

Very beautiful poem, though sad. I have often felt fear hiding like a faithful companion. *sigh* You write very well

What a title Eclipse, you know we go along in our lives with so many faithful companions, fear, anxiety, uncertainty … and they always make sure to remind us that they are there…
Congrats for the award and thank you for the nomination, it means a lot coming from such a talented poet like yourself…

My dear Eclipse,
Congratulations on the award! You deserve it.
Those of us who suffer from insomnia can indeed relate to this poem. Darkness always seems to prey on our thoughts and invade our minds at a time when we are most vulnerable.
A beautiful & insightful poem.
Thank you friend.

Sometimes it’s not good to be alone with our thoughts. Lovely way of expressing how thoughts, and fear, seem to haunt us more at night, when its quiet.

Oh, the things that keep us up at night. Insomnia has many sources, and you wrote well.
And, you can totally nominate two people. Because participation in potluck keeps increasing, we need to nominate more people each week.

First Congratulations upon your award Eclipse..
Your poem as always filled with insight of emotions which surface in the ” Merciless night””.. I wonder just how many of us lay within its velvet blanket looking out into the mists of shadows that still have the power to bleed the heart dry……..
Love to you my friend.. Excellent.. 🙂

I loved your poem. You convey that vulnerability we can sometimes feel in the middle of the night, half asleep or wide awake….Your words evoked this beautifully.
