*My Soft Rain*

See with your eyes closed:
a small well of water,
a ring in a meadow
where blades of grass flicker in the wind
sharing a joy dance with fairies.

There,
in the middle of the strange whirl,
at twilight,
the moon’s reflection reveals its magic
in this odd mirror.
A white stallion with the silver mane
emerges from the forest
whispering through the fog
while his nostrils spread
and lightning comes out of his eyes.

If you see it
with your eyes closed,
you will understand.
My messy mind
just took one more journey
into a fantasy again.
As a refuge,
a shelter against an eternal struggle;
always trapped like a bird in cage
within a darkness of one story.
All about giving but losing
about having yet missing…

You will know.
As you are the one.
My soft rain
falling gently onto the desert
of my worried heart.

  4. Arrgh.. the rain,,,,, without the soft rain or torrents in life we would not have the meadow flowers that grow… to close ones eyes and dream,… Sigh…. you paint a beautiful image upon the mind Eclipse with your beautiful heartfelt words of poetry.. I could see the stallion nostrils flared.. and feel its breath as it came out of the woods.. Stallions White to me are symbols of strength to ride over ones troubles… be not afraid to take hold of the reins and leap upon his back and Dare to ride out into the unknown world of love… and look not back over your shoulder.. But stop at the mirrored lake to look at your beautiful reflection and see how far you have come.. For the soft rain,,,, will wash away and cleanse the spirit.. and ease the mind and heal the soul… You have found your soft rain. ~Dreamwalker ~

  7. I felt such a sadness as I read on in this piece. The beginning, the peak inside, seemed lovely and soothing, but that which followed felt pained and unfulfilled. Really evocative writing.

  8. tempting to step out from the cage but much more safer inside love the poem eclipse xxjen

  9. What a wonderul poem with pefect attention to detail yet not at all contrived — but quite the opposite — free, flowing and without an ounce of anything unnecessary or irrelevant! Well done!

I love the look of your site also — what them is this? I love how it scrolls and the picture remains constant.

  18. As a dark soul standing upon the precipice of the abyss, I look down and dread the reflection rising up to me. For as I stand under the skies of the Leper Messiah, the ever surmounting fear wells up to touch me. I know that in the very lest only a handful of brightness, orbs of brilliance in this realm I only know the few, a few indeed. I mark you as one of these precious children I have come to know…

    • …And because of this recollection in my trepidation, my arms become straight and true knowing that the ominous fate before me looses it’s sting in my eternal gratitude…

  19. Yes indeed. The ever present ache for something… more. Elusive.. just out of reach. Love it!
Writing is as beautiful as ever. I love walking in a soft rainfall.

  20. It makes me sigh. Everyone bears a pain of their own. But I can empathise with your eternal pain that refuses to disappear even in the presence of a beloved.

    • Thank you dear Martin for your kind words…
There are several types of pain and yes, some never disappear, but the understanding and presence of the beloved are the cure that never fails… like soft rain on a dry land…
