There are times
I wish
to be there again
Under the oak trees
With my eyes closed
While
the moss smells
irresistibly delightful
and the song of owls
comes from afar
And never mind
my childish fears
Now
I would know
how to listen to the darkness
recognizing
sounds of the forest
Oh I’ve never thought
how painful
it will be
To embrace the spring
on its very first day
I’ve never thought
The day
which once was joy
The rebirth of nature
Now
merely grief
I’ve never thought
that the birdsong
would veil me
with the black lace
of longing
Remind me forever
of a heart
that stopped beating
when spring
just opened its eyes
The end is better than beginning
said an ancient book
Yet
I won’t lose hope
You may be
at another place
Where time has no meaning
where mirrors show no breath
and life is not even a memory
A dawn of one new spring
has to bring you back

A wonderful tribute to your Dad Eclipse, memories often hold us in their own emotion as certain things trigger a memory of our loved ones.. Today happens to be my Mothers Anniversary of her passing.. This holds sadness not only on her passing, but of the wasted years in the silent 10 yrs we shared prior to her passing.. Despite my attempts to bridge her stubbornness ..
